What is the Summit?
The annual Green Sports Alliance Summit is the largest and most influential gathering for the sports community to unite around sustainability. The event brings together hundreds of industry stakeholders to learn and share better practices and the latest innovations in greening operations, advancing the supply chain and engaging fans.
Why it Matters
The sports industry is uniquely positioned to make large scale impact in the environmental performance of many of our largest public spaces. Sports teams also play a special role in influencing citizens and mobilizing communities to take action. The Summit seeks to highlight better practices for enhancing performance and fostering a dialogue with stakeholders and fans about environmental stewardship.
2020 marks the Alliance’s tenth anniversary. The June Summit, “Game On! The Future of Sports & Sustainability” will be a celebration of the past decade and a view towards the next ten years, while we set a new standard of excellence in the sports and sustainability movement. We invite you to join us as we set the stage for the next decade of sports and sustainability. Your voice, your vision, your goals, and your ideas are essential as we collectively seek to lead the way and drive a more sustainable world and build stronger communities.
“Game On!” will bring together leaders in sports and sustainability, along with sustainability leaders from other industries and sectors to facilitate the exchange of ideas and best-in-class solutions and innovations.
Hosting our Summit in Minneapolis is incredibly important because of the sports entities, companies, and communities that are invested in the future of sustainability. This will be reflected in all aspects of our event, as we connect the greater sports industry to the Minneapolis region and showcase the inspiring work the region is doing.
2020 Summit Program
Throughout the two-day Summit, attendees will gain insights and inspiration as they join hundreds of sports, sustainability, and brand professionals in a collaborative setting to share insights on how their initiatives have evolved over the past 10 years and what the most pressing issues are that they will address over the next decade.
Most of the action will take place on the main stage with fast-paced sessions designed to cover a broad range of topics and ideas. So no matter where you are on your journey, whether you have been at it for a decade or you are new to the sports greening movement, our stage will be designed to give our attendees a behind-the-scenes look at how the leagues, teams, venues, and supporting organizations think about the issues; how they have overcome obstacles; how they have worked with key stakeholders; and where they see taking action over the next 18 months and beyond.

- A full Summit ticket includes: entrance to all sessions, breakfast, lunch, and networking receptions. The first 300 registrations will receive a complimentary ticket to our Green Sports Alliance Foundation Benefit Awards dinner at the end of Day 1 (June 17th).

2020 Summit Volunteer Application
Applications to be a volunteer at our June 17-18, 2020 Summit, “Game On! The Future of Sports & Sustainability” at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis are open.
As a volunteer please be prepared to volunteer for about two 5-6 hour volunteer shifts on June 17 & June 18. We will send a shift selection email to the accepted volunteers with a list of shifts to choose from in May.
