The green sports industry is stepping up in a huge way to support their organizations, employees, and communities during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Green Sports Alliance
The Green Sports Alliance leverages the cultural and market influence of sports to promote healthy, sustainable communities where people live and play. The Alliance inspires professional sports leagues, college conferences, sports governing bodies, colleges, teams, venues, their partners and millions of fans to embrace renewable energy, healthy food, recycling, water efficiency, safer chemicals and other environmentally preferable practices. Alliance members represent nearly 600 sports teams and venues from 15 sports leagues in 14 countries.
The Stadium Managers Association looks forward to working with the Green Sports Alliance on these common objectives of enhancing the efficient and sustainable operations of stadiums.
The Alliance has provided us with a network of professionals and the background necessary to make informed decisions about our greening efforts. Their accessibility makes them unique, while their passion is…inspiring.
Our league prides itself on giving back to the communities that support our clubs, and enhancing the environment is an initiative that all of us at MLS support.
Enhancing the sustainability of professional sports is a worthy goal, and we wish the Green Sports Alliance great success.

While the Rose Garden’s achievement of LEED Gold was a great first step for our industry, we still have work to do. As part of the Green Sports Alliance we can work with our partners to take it to the next level.
