AEG Facilities Affiliates Celebrate Earth Month

Last week, AEG Facilities wrapped up a month of April where 39 of its stadiums, arenas, theatres, clubs, convention centers, and teams were involved in celebrating Earth Month festivities. The various facilities hosted recycling drives, promoted public transportation, and promoted both public and internal actions to improve sustainability. Among the participants in the month-long series of events included the following Green Sports Alliance members:

• the Barclays Center in Brooklyn;
• the StubHub Center and Los Angeles Galaxy in Carson, California;
• the Houston Dynamo and their BBVA Compass Stadium;
• Oracle Arena and O.co Coliseum in Oakland;
• KFC Yum! Center in Louisville;
• the STAPLES Center and the Los Angeles Kings;
• Rabobank Arena in Bakersfield, California;
• the Target Center in Minneapolis;
• and the Ülker Sports Arena in Istanbul, Turkey.

“We focus on sustainability every day behind the scenes, but Earth Month gives us a great opportunity to share these values with the community,” John Marler, AEG’s senior director of energy and environment, said about the coordinated efforts. “Whether it’s hosting a cell phone recycling drive or inviting a local nonprofit to set up at an event, we try to do something our guests and employees will find informative and useful.”
