Original Event Description

GreenerBuilder is a USGBC regional conference bringing together 400 professionals in architecture, engineering, construction, real estate, and government.

Hosted by the Pacific Region Communities of the US Green Building Council, GreenerBuilder is a one-day conference and expo for green building professionals. The annual event unites all of the key players in greening the Pacific Region’s built environment—including architects, engineers and contractors—to discuss industry trends, new research and emerging technologies. GreenerBuilder is where you can get the strategies and tools to help create a more sustainable future in the region.

GreenerBuilder 2019 will feature sessions on decarbonization, climate change resilience & adaptation, materials & waste, owners’ perspectives, and equity & diversity in the green building economy. The speaker line-up includes Panama Bartholomy, Director of the Building Decarbonization Coalition; Mary Curtis, Head of Energy and Sustainability at Hewlett-Packard; Kirsten Ritchie, Principal and Director of Sustainable Design at Gensler, and many more.

Very Exciting News! Paul Hawken, environmentalist, author and activist has been confirmed as the Keynote Speaker.

Sustainability is the foundation of GreenerBuilder. The GreenerBuilder sustainability program addresses environmental impact through seven objectives:

  1. Move toward a zero-waste event
  2. Increase stakeholder education and engagement
  3. Improve sustainable sourcing
  4. Improve performance tracking
  5. Reduce greenhouse gas emissions
  6. Positively impact communities
  7. Catalyze the advancement of green building initiatives and sustainable operations within the hospitality industry

GreenerBuilder is hosted at San Francisco Marriott Marquis. The property has taken steps toward Zero Waste by 2020. Find out more about the existing practices here.
