At its spring football scrimmage on April 19, the University of Texas will reveal the winners of its $25,000 Chemistry Challenge. The challenge, coordinated in participation with BASF, is a call for Longhorns students to submit ideas on reducing the environmental impact of hosting football games at Darrell K Royal–Texas Memorial Stadium.
Challenge submissions will include outlines of the issue being addressed; solutions for reducing the impact on fans; and a detailed blueprint that addresses the problem and executes a solution. Students submitting an entry are also encouraged to produce a three-minute video highlighting the solutions offered within the submission.
