The Green Sports Alliance is honored to announce the winner of the 2015 Pac-12 Zero Waste Bowl, The University of Colorado Boulder!
In partnership with the Green Sports Alliance, all twelve members of the NCAA Pac-12 Athletic Conference participated in this competition to see which campus could divert the most waste from the landfill at a selected home game during the 2015 football season. The competition, which follows on the heels of the successful ‘Pac-12 Road to Zero Waste Challenge’ around basketball last spring, provides a friendly and spirited platform for Pac-12 universities to engage on best practices in Athletics waste diversion and to learn how each campus strives toward zero waste goals. In addition to overall stadium waste diversion rate, the universities are scored on partnership & participation, fan engagement, and innovation.
Results of the Pac-12 Zero Waste Bowl were a determined by a panel of three independent judges. We congratulate CU-Boulder, UC-Berkeley, U. Arizona, USC, and ALL Pac-12 campuses for their valiant efforts and participation!
The Green Sports Alliance is proud to support this unique activation showcasing the sustainability leadership of the Pac-12.
