Green Sports Alliance Announces Partnership with the Netherlands Consulate-General

October, 5th 2022: Portland, OR – The Green Sports Alliance (GSA) welcomes an official international strategic ally with the Consulate-General of the Kingdom of the Netherlands as the first GSA Consulate Partnership. The country of the Netherlands has demonstrated global leadership in climate action, water management, and the vital transformation to a circular economy. Innovative brands across the Netherlands have accelerated domestic progress and possess the ability to bring viable sustainability solutions to scale on an international stage.“We are delighted and excited to be the first international strategic partner of Green Sports Alliance. This partnership underlines our common goal: collaborate towards a more sustainable future in and through sports,” said Ruth Emmerink, Consul General of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Miami. GSA in partnership with the Consulate-General of the Kingdom of the Netherlands (“NL”) is uniquely positioned to share innovative solutions from the Netherlands to the forefront of environmental action and U.S. pop culture while inspiring sports audiences across the globe. "The collaboration will create opportunities for new international corporate and sports members to join the Green Sports Alliance while also creating exposure to new sustainability innovations that could potentially support the green sports movement globally," said Roger McClendon, Executive Director of the Green Sports Alliance. As the green sports community comes together on October 6th to celebrate Green Sports Day, The Consulate General of the Kingdom of the Netherlands will help take sports greening international.
