Survey: Energy and Water Efficiency of Stadiums and Arenas

The Green Sports Alliance, in partnership with the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), National Institute of Building Sciences (NIBS), and the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), has launched a ground-breaking initiative to survey energy and water efficiency practices and gather performance information about sports venues.

The findings from the Energy and Water Efficiency of Stadiums and Arenas Survey will help identify opportunities to reduce energy and water use, save money, and lead the way towards the possible development of a new ENERGY STAR® score and certification for stadiums and arenas.

Tips for taking the survey:

  1. Review the survey questions  to assure you have the necessary information before you get started.
Click here to download a PDF version of the survey.
Click here to view a recorded webinar, providing an overview of the survey.
  2. Review instructions and options for uploading your energy and water data. You will be able to submit your data via ENERGY STAR Portfolio Manager or an Excel spreadsheet template. Don’t forget that utility data must cover the period of January 1, 2015-December 31, 2015.  Click here to learn more about submitting your venue’s data.
  3. Upon submitting your responses, you will receive a link that will allow you to return to the survey and make updates or clarify any of your responses.
